BRING SOPHIE HOME
$5,000 Cash Reward
For Sophie's safe return
Reward is good only until 5:00 p.m., Friday, July 19, 2024 Contact Us at 337-469-1563
Sophie is our mini-schnauzer who got out of our yard at 6:30 a.m. Tuesday, February 8, 2023. We became aware of this within 5-10 minutes and immediately began searching.
Sophie escaped near the intersection of Highway 93 and Highway 98 (Gloria Switch Rd.) aka The Valero Roundabout - 3-4 miles North of Scott, LA.
A friend near the Valero captured Sophie on their home security cam running into the driveway of the Valero early that morning after she went missing.
When contacted, the Valero district manager claimed not to have cameras in the parking lot although cameras are clearly visible.
(BTW, we now boycott the Valero).
Throughout the day that Sophie went missing, and for many days and weeks afterwards - friends, neighbors, passers-by, strangers, USPS/Fed Ex/UPS people, Lafayette, Acadia and St Landry Parish patrol units were all on the look out, but Sophie was nowhere to be found.
It is our belief that Sophie was either picked up by someone who was driving by at 6:30 that morning, or picked up by someone at the Valero or perhaps a resident in the area found Sophie wandering about in their yard and decided to keep her - ignoring out initial reward signs for her return.
It's not too late.
Please Bring Sophie Home.
About Sophie
Sophie is a 13 (now 14 ) year old nearly solid black/dark grey mini-schnauzer with a docked tail. Sophie's most prominent feature are her very big ears that stick straight up. There is no flop at all to those ears. At the time she went missing, she weighed 18 pounds and had been recently groomed. So at the time, she had a short beard and no schnauzer skirt. If she hasn't been groomed in the past year, she would look very shaggy. Even when very shaggy, those big ears still stick straight up. She was wearing a maroon collar with rabies tag and pink heart name tag when she went missing.
Sophie is a sweet little girl with a happy tail but can become a grumpy old woman very quickly when the mood strikes. She isn't much of a snuggler but will let you know she wants special lap time when she's in a good mood. She cannot tolerate her feet being touched - or her ears - or her whiskers - or her heiny butt. She will growl or try to bite. She definitely does not like to be groomed. Despises grooming. Will absolutely try to bite if she sees the clippers or a pair of grooming scissors coming anywhere near her.
Sophie was rescued when she was about 18 months old after being found wandering the streets of Eunice. We don't know what her early life entailed but for 11-12 years she was a loved and valued member of our family.
We want someone to please Bring Sophie Home!!
Procedure For Collecting the Reward
Please read carefully and follow these steps:
1. Text us at 337-469-1563 to let us know if you have Sophie or if you know who has her and you can get her back to us. Your text MUST be accompanied by your photos/videos of Sophie. You must send multiple photos from different angles and short videos to prove the schnauzer you believe to be Sophie is indeed our Sophie. This is non-negotiable.
2. If, after we review, we believe that the initial photos and videos you text to us resemble Sophie, we may ask for additional photos and/or video or we may proceed to Step #3
3. If we have a strong belief that the photos/videos you send to us are indeed Sophie, we will set up an appointment with you in a secure location to protect both you and us. That secure location will probably be in the lobby of an area bank where we will want to see the dog in order to confirm it is actually Sophie.
4. Bring the dog to the appointment - on a leash or in a kennel. If we are able to confirm Sophie's identity, you will give us the dog and we will get the cash from a bank teller and hand it over to you.
5. Transaction ends. Goodbye.

Notice to Scammers and the Like (The Insignificant Minority)
In the past year we have been subjected to every variety of scam and scoundrel. We have also been subjected to the most rude, hateful, cruel people imaginable during our search. Our level of trust has been diminished so please note that our tolerance for BS is at zero.
Lastly, if you have Sophie and don't want to give her back, or you had possession of her at one time and you harmed her, be mindful that God saw what you did. He does not forget.
We are praying for Sophie's safe return. Please Bring Sophie Home.
